Friday Medical Camp and Hero Flat Stanley

On the Friday after New Years, we conducted a medical clinic at a traffic depot. Along with the regular immunizations and other medical stations, there was also HIV/AIDS testing. Truck drivers were being stopped at the depot and were being brought in for testing.

While we were out one day, Monkeys grabbed some tootsie rolls and smarties which we had left on the patio table. Fortunately, Flat Stanley chased down the monkeys and engaged them in battle. When we came back, Flat was exhausted and without his right leg, but he had brought back all but one of the candy bags. The monkeys escaped with some tootsie rolls.

New Year's Day Games and Gifts

On the afternoon of New Year’s Day, the children invited us to play games with them and we had SO MUCH FUN! There were boys’ games, girls’ games, and group games.
In addition, we attempted to teach some of the kids one of our favorite games, simply called the Cups Game. They’re not quite ready to go to a cups game competition, but we had a blast with them.
After the sun went down, everyone gathered in the prayer Ashram and we had the delightful pleasure of giving Christmas gifts of new sturdy plates and cups to each child for their meals.

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed are those who take refuge in him.
